This acrylic pouring was created using the "dirty pour technique", the process of layering different colors in a paper roll and slowly lifting the edges and tilting the canvas until the paint coved the full surface. A straight surface of wood was used to catch the paint from the edges and gently move it onto the sides as well. Cells were created by placing small drops of silicone oil on the paint. Finally, green glitter was added on the green surface to represent the magical power of harnessing natural resources and transforming this into renewable ecologically responsible energy.
This piece was inspired by my friend Sharyn, who gave an inspirational presentation about the existing revolutionary technology and possibilities for independent, ecologically friendly power production through seaweed faming in her local country and other island nations. Sharyn is both an idealistic dreamer of a better world and an active doer, a supporter of Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAOs) and numerous other game-changing projects.
