Sword of the Spirit

The "word of God" is likened to a sword in the bible. It's the sword of the spirit that lives inside of us all. It magnifies cognitive dissonance to point out hypocrisy. Only a truly humble person, strong enough to wonder if they're wrong, can wield the sword through speech without cutting oneself. What that means is, if you're a hypocrite and trying to point to someone else to condemn them as wrong or immoral or unrighteous in some way, your own hypocrisy will be magnified until you notice it and clean yourself up. This is why people are warned to judge themselves first and clean up their own sins before condemning others. Treat others as you would want to be treated, and tread lightly into condemnation territory.
