[Audio collage / sound poem recorded mostly via phone with mixing and weirdening done in Audacity. Cover art is crayon and felt pen on notebook page with digital embellishments and color.]
Somewhere between sound collage and noise poetry, this is the first of my SoundARTZ audio-NFT experiments. Actually, I've been making audio art since the 1970s, although back then I used cassette recorders and magnetic tape, which added a nice, satisfying HISS-ambiance to the proceedings.
The cover artwork for this piece was a collaboration between me and my not-quite-two-year-old granddaughter, Felicity. It has very little to do with the audio, except in a quantum sense... And I can't remember if the phrase "Apropos of nothing..." appeared in the audio recording first or in my head while finalizing the drawing. Does it matter? (Perhaps...in a HOLISTIC sense, everything matters, like how a couch stuck in a stairwell can affect the workings of the entire universe...)
