Hiding Mushroom

The forests of Newfoundland are harsh. The climate kills things. This island is far out into the Atlantic ocean where the temperatures are cold most of the year and the winds are high. The plant life here tends to be hardy and resilient. There are not a wide variety of mushrooms found here, but the ones that we do find are beautiful. This little fella was photographed on a 2-day hike as part of the East Coast Trail. This would be on the most easterly part of Newfoundland near the cliffs on the Atlantic.
