Candyfloss for Patriarchy

Creator: @neumannsalva
This could be a poem, but it is not. It’s the poof of me living in the clouds. Living in a soft and wet place, ideas drifting in and out like candyfloss. Simultaneously so pleasing to the eyes, but too sweet to digest. Ideas about womanhood in the past and the could-be. Thinking about female role models as I get older. Obeying societies standards of youngness, thinness, health, and the possibility of childbearing. The possibility is enough to give validation. Can I resist. Can I resist while loving myself? I want to be the genius who can make all good for everyone. But I cannot. I want to rage but instead I sketch something cute and sweet. I want patriarchy to get diabetes. I am the artist who destroys. All is candyfloss in my eyes… All started with the idea of one sketched figure. I wanted her to be lovable. I wanted her to be female, but not securely. I wanted her to be all races, sizes. I wanted to see her happy, astonished, sad. I wanted her to have her period, to not have her period, to get pregnant or not. I want her to be us. The artwork belongs to a series about the invisibility of women beyond the age of sexual reproductivity I am currently working on. The artwork is made with Procreate on Ipadpro 21 MB and 7711 x 5438 px.
