"Ragged Luxury" by Richard F. Yates (HF)

[Crayon on found cardboard with digital embellishments and color.] This is a Rothko / slash / Abstract Expressionist experiment performed in the digital era. Instead of paint pigment, however, I'm letting light be a random factor by creating color fields on a rough surface then photographing the small image (like maybe 3 inches square), exploding it through zooming in, and then playing with the color saturation. Overall, I'm very happy with the colors and, especially, the textures of this piece. The full image is a bit too big for my ancient laptop screen, but the parts that I can see look pretty cool to me.
