[Ink on notebook page with digital embellishments and color.] Unlike the modern Christian conception of demons, in Japanese tradition, demons (oni) are more like forces of nature, often doing specific jobs or tasks, and not part of some huge, Manichean "black vs white" war for the cosmos. That doesn't mean this little demonoid isn't DANGEROUS, just that the concept of "EVIL vs GOOD" is a bit simplistic (and often leads to horrible, cruel, and misinformed politics...) ---Richard F.
