Flying Fish

The Gunard is a fish prized for it's firm tasty flesh and spectacular colouring, and is found in the warm waters around New Zealand and the Pacific islands. As well as being well known for it's taste and colouring the Gurnard is also renowned for it's ability to fly through the air for many metres if being hunted,which it does with the aid of it's "wings"which it only reveals when flying. When caught the Gurnard quickly loses it's beautiful colouring and the wings are hidden. I was lucky enough to capture an image of a fish that had just been caught while it still showed it's full colours and wings before being killed by the fisherman.I then added a modified layers to represent the fish flying above the ocean in all it's glory.Such a beautiful example of Nature's workings.
