Expectant: Agog

Creator: @castleberry
Expectant: Agog was handcrafted in pencil, then inked with archival ink, and afterward coated with many layers of wax-based PrismaColor colored pencils. Next, the forms were reinked and outlined in archival ink and certain portions were outlined in Silver or Gold gel pen ink. The background was bottom coated in black Sharpie marker then topped with alternating layers of metallic colored pencil in between white charcoal pencil. The white charcoal was then layered with metallic silver wax-based colored pencil. Each alternating striated layer was outlined in silver gel. Most of the techniques and processes above were repeated more than once on an 8.5 x 11 piece Caliber ColorLok paper. Expectant: Agog is an expression of the female form and the beauty of life therein. This artwork is a celebration of life and love from the inside out. Translating with art the beauty of life and it's interplay with light in this piece was a satisfying challenge. “Great things are done by a series of small things brought together.” – Vincent Van Gogh “To be an artist is to believe in life.” – Henry Moore
