Gérard has a strong drive to solve mysteries. He started out solving small cases in his neighborhood. He then studied to become a policeman and became a private detective. Throughout his career, he has unraveled numerous cases and solved many crimes. His ability to connect the pieces and uncover the truth has made him a household name. In the underworld, he is known as "The Hound". He is currently on the hunt for a serial killer who has spread terror in France. The first victims appeared near the Seine River in Paris. Then in a restaurant in Meaux, an old hotel in Melun and in a square in Mantes-la-Jolie. All of them received seven stab wounds in the stomach before dying, as a distinctive mark. However, there is no connection between them, so he does not know the killer's next step. The Hound does not know that the deaths are the work of his alter ego, the dark side he has repressed all his life. Sometimes he dreams that he is the cause of the crimes and wakes up sweating, terrified. Lately, he suffers from mental lapses that prevent him from remembering what he did the day before. He has begun to doubt his sanity and lives with the feeling that the enemy is near and lurking.
